Successful agreement to roadmap!
World leaders at the climate change conference in Bali have reached a last minute agreement, outlining the path to a new pact to combat global warming. After marathon hours of discussion and seeming failure, nearly 190 nations approved the roadmap, which should pave the way toward reaching a new global warming treaty by 2009. The break-through happened when the United States dropped its opposition to the deal and agreed to proposals by developing nations. The new pact would succeed the current Kyoto Protocol, which runs out in 2012. / from d.welle /
